Kim Mulkey, Angel Reese and Co. falling to Caitlin Clark and Iowa wasn’t the one loss for LSU on Monday evening.
Southern College went down the freeway and got here up with a 12-7 win over neighbor LSU baseball in Baton Rouge. SU got here away with a 12-7 win at Alex Field Stadium, Skip Bertman Subject.

Tyeler Hawkins broke the sport open within the third inning with a house run to left discipline, bringing in KJ White and Logan Sanders. LSU struck again within the fifth inning with a pair of scores to chop the margin to 3-2. Southern elevated the lead within the high of the fifth inning as Ryan Ollison’s double introduced in three runners to push the result in 6-2.
Donny Sandifer homered to left discipline, bringing in Ollison. LSU responded with two unearned runs to chop the result in 8-5 heading into the highest of the fifth. Southern would add an unearned run of its personal to push the result in 9-4. LSU would get as shut as 9-7 however Southern scored three runs on the high of the ninth inning after which saved LSU away from dwelling plate.
LSU baseball fell to 20-10 total. Southern improved to 12-13 total on the season.
