Jackson guided the Tigers to a 21-15 document and their first Southwestern Athletic Convention match championship as a Division I program and defeated Montana State 88-81 within the First 4 in Dayton, Ohio for this system’s first NCAA match win.
Jackson, who beforehand coached at Central State and Stillman, is 120-102 in seven seasons at Grambling State, together with an 81-42 mark in convention play.
The Ben Jobe Coach Of The Yr award is called for the late Dr. Ben Jobe, who studied below the legendary John McClendon and was a profitable head coach in his personal proper, main 14-seed Southern to an upset over No. 3 Georgia Tech – and lifelong good friend Bobby Cremmins – in 1993.
