A former Tremendous Bowl MVP might be trusted with growing an HBCU soccer staff’s receiving core.
Santonio Holmes, MVP of Tremendous Bowl XLIII for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was introduced as Central State’s new vast receivers coach Monday afternoon.
Holmes will be part of new head coach Tony Carter in attempting to steer the Marauders to their first profitable season since restarting soccer in 2006.

Holmes performed his school ball at Ohio State earlier than being drafted by the Steelers in 2006. Three seasons later, Holmes caught 9 passes for 131 yards and the toe drag of all toe drag touchdowns to provide the Steelers a 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals and the franchise’s sixth Tremendous Bowl title.
Holmes performed for the Steelers, New York Jets and Chicago Bears, catching 389 passes for six,030 yards and 36 touchdowns.
