ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves launched Hank Aaron Week on Wednesday when the U.S. Postal Service devoted a commemorative perpetually stamp honoring Aaron throughout a ceremony at Truist Park.
The stamp was introduced on April 8, the fiftieth anniversary of Aaron’s record-breaking 715th residence run.
On April 8, baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred helped honor Aaron in Atlanta by becoming a member of the Braves in asserting a $100,000 endowment of a scholarship at Tuskegee College, a traditionally Black college in Aaron’s residence state of Alabama.
