Denzel Washington is in search of inspiration within the subsequent chapter of his profession.
The Oscar winner revealed in a current interview with Empire Journal that there are “only a few” films that draw his curiosity after greater than 40 years within the movie trade. Washington added it was director Ridley Scott, who he labored with on 2007’s “American Gangster,” who “impressed” him to star in “Gladiator II.”
“There are only a few movies left for me to make that I’m thinking about, and I’ve to be impressed by the filmmaker, and I used to be tremendously impressed by Ridley,” Washington advised the publication.
“We had an important go-round the primary go-round [on ‘American Gangster’], and right here we’re,” the “Fences” actor added. “He’s engaged. He’s enthusiastic about life and his subsequent movie. He’s an inspiration. We should always all need to really feel like that at 86.”
Washington stars as Macrinus, an influence dealer who retains a steady of gladiators, within the “Gladiator” sequel, which hits theaters on Nov. 22. In line with Washington, Macrinus “needs to be Emperor and he’s keen to do something to get there.”
