Tougaloo School, a traditionally Black establishment with deep roots within the civil rights motion, faces threats after U.S. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett delivered a stirring graduation tackle.
The threats adopted Crockett’s Might 4 speech, which inspired graduates to “stroll into your function and to stroll in greatness together with your head held excessive” whereas invoking the legacy of Tougaloo’s function within the combat for justice.
In a letter to the campus neighborhood, Tougaloo President Dr. Donzell Lee confirmed the faculty had obtained “regarding calls” and warranted college students and workers that legislation enforcement had been contacted and security protocols have been in place.
“We’re not taking these occurrences frivolously. Acceptable actions have been taken,” Dr. Lee wrote. “As at all times, your persevering with security is our major concern.”

Congresswoman Crockett responded publicly, blaming supporters of President Donald Trump for the threats. “No low is just too low for MAGA… now clarify to me why an establishment could be receiving threats due to the graduation speech that I gave?” Crockett posted on X.
“The sort of conduct is why I consistently want safety. Fact-telling on this nation, sadly, is a harmful enterprise, however faculty college students don’t deserve this.”
