Jean Knight, Grammy Nominated ‘Mr. Big Stuff’ Singer, Dead At 80

Jean Knight, an R&B and soul singer most recognized for her iconic 1971 monitor “Mr. Huge Stuff,” died on the age of 80 as a result of pure causes, in keeping with TMZ.

A press release shared by the musician’s household detailed that the proud New Orleans-bred songstress handed away Nov. 22.

“Ms. Knight’s legacy is not only a musical one; it’s a testomony to the enduring love between an artist, her hometown, and the followers who adored her,” famous her household. “As we bid farewell to this iconic soulstress, New Orleans and her world fan base be part of collectively in gratitude for the inedible a lot left on the world.”

 

“Mr. Huge Stuff” was produced by fellow New Orleans musician Wardell Quezerque and launched through Memphis’ Stax Data music label in 1971.

Her songs over time included her 1965 breakout monitor, “Doggin’ Me Round,” 1985’s Rockin’ Sydney’s cowl “(Don’t Mess With) My Toot Toot,” 1990’s “You Suppose You’re Scorching Stuff” and 2012’s “Invoice.”

Knight’s family members famous that along with her passions for music and performing, the late singer additionally cherished celebrating Mardi Gras and cooking Creole meals for her family members.
