Paul Quinn College Remembers Fallen Officer Darron Burks

Paul Quinn School hosted a candlelight vigil on Wednesday to honor the lifetime of Dallas Police Officer Darron Burks. The 46-year-old was tragically killed in an ambush assault per week in the past. His group remembers him as a devoted educator, group servant, and loving buddy.

Burks was shot whereas sitting in his patrol automotive throughout what authorities described as a premeditated ambush by 30-year-old Corey Cobb-Bey. The assault additionally injured two different officers earlier than Cobb-Bey was fatally shot by police.

A 2007 Paul Quinn graduate, Burks was a proud alum and a former trainer who had lately accomplished police coaching. He was actively concerned in his group, served with the Boy Scouts of America, and was a Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Included member.

“This has hit our group exceptionally laborious,” Sorrell advised these gathered at PQC’s Heritage Bell. “Brother Burks was somebody who was the salt of the earth.
