Shaboozey makes history with No. 1 song ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’

Shaboozey is formally the No. 1 artist within the nation. 

The singer’s nation single “A Bar Tune (Tipsy)” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Sizzling 100 chart this week. The music, which interpolates J-Kwon’s 2004 hit “Tipsy,” is “the primary music by Black male artist to concurrently prime the Sizzling 100 and Sizzling Nation Songs charts,” in keeping with Selection. 

Shaboozey joins Beyoncé as a history-maker on the charts as “A Bar Tune (Tipsy)” succeeded Beyoncé’s “Texas Maintain ‘Em” as No. 1 on the Sizzling Nation chart. It’s the first time in historical past that two Black artists have consecutively held the No. 1 place and led the chart back-to-back, in keeping with Billboard. 

“A Bar Tune (Tipsy)” is the lead single from Shaboozey’s album ‘The place I’ve Been, Isn’t The place I’m Going,’ which he instructed Billboard was “just a little little bit of this style that even ‘Cowboy Carter’ created, only a little bit of every thing. Lots of nation, however some hip-hop moments on there, too. However a variety of my private story and journey.”

Shaboozey was featured on two “Cowboy Carter” tracks, “Spaghettii” with Linda Martell and “Candy * Honey * Buckiin’.” The rapper gushed about working with Queen Bey in an April interview with Billboard, saying that the inventive course of was “all collaborative.” 

“Everybody’s working on the similar time and totally different rooms and I got here in a few days and recorded some components. [Beyoncé] heard them later and appreciated them,” Shaboozey shared on the time. “It’s cool the way you don’t know till the final second in case your half made it or not. We have been ready up till 9 p.m. PT [on album release day] to know if we made the reduce.”

Shaboozey shared that that is how Beyoncé “likes to place issues collectively,” by “taking totally different components of various issues and totally different bridges, all the time experimenting with the sound.”

“It feels superior,” he concluded. “It feels nice for somebody like her to enter the area that me and some others have simply been constructing on and creating from for a very long time. It’s simply wonderful. We’re so pleased to have such a powerhouse of an artist that selected to take this journey to nation, so it’s wonderful to be part of that.”
